Participants of this hands-on course will learn and practice the basics of surviving in the Northeastern Ontario’s wilderness. Priorities of survival will be discussed first, and then the participants will practice skills such as wilderness travel, fire making, obtaining water, making shelter and encountering wildlife. This is an essential course for anyone wishing to begin exploring the outdoors in the autumn.

No paddling or yoga experience needed. This experience is for everyone, however, you will want to make sure you know how to swim or are comfortable being in the water.

Guests will arrive for a 2 night weekend retreat at the beautiful Natures Harmony Ecolodge in Mattawa. Included in the weekend retreat- All meals, accommodations, and all services. Guests will start off by settling in at the Shamayim cabin large dome. Then the group will get cozy at the drum ceremony and meet and greet, followed by an introduction on what it means to have a conscious relationship with ourselves, lead by Cara. Cara dives into her group training on family satir systems, the principles in a conscious relationship to ourselves and much more. Guests will have sometime to mix and mingle before ending the evening with some slow flow yoga and meditation, lead by Cara.
Starting the day Saturday with a light nourishing snack before yoga and breath work session lead by Christina. Enjoying a break with a more bulkier breakfast before the guests learn group intention setting and deep healing energy work session lead by team leaders Cara and Liliane. After the deep healing energy work session the guests will refresh with some fruit before heading on an optional barefoot grounding walk. Delicious, nourishing lunch before guests are off on a magical experience on a mushroom foraging hike with Jessi, who loves to share one of her passions. Feeling alive after the guests return from the mushroom foraging hike, group will relax into learning an exercise they can take home on conscious relationship, lead by Cara. Guest will enjoy a nourishing dinner, which will be infused with the mushrooms from the foraging hike. Winding down with quiet time before the fire social, drumming, music, and singing, so do not forget your favourite instruments.
Sunday rising, guests enjoy a nourishing breakfast, before learning practices to take home, to deep the relationship with themselves.

Team leaders Cara Kingston (from Pathways wellness clinic) and Liliane Lukacs – co lead the energy treatment session: Cara and Liliane have over 15 years of experience in providing energy work services, they will guide you with your willingness to set intentions to heal deeply in there energy treatment provided to the guests. This will allow the individuals receiving this energy treatment to deepen there healing on a wholeness and core level. And provide practices to take home to maintain and integrate healing the relationship with themselves.

Oyster Mushrooms (Pleurotus species) are a gilled mushroom variety. They are classified as fungi. Grown naturally outdoors in the forest and within our homestead garden. Of the 40 known types of Oyster mushrooms we are blessed to have 4 strains.
White Oyster – Blue Oyster – King Oyster – Pearl Oyster
All Oyster types are edible, and a great choice for a meat-free meal/diet. Enjoy them in pasta sauce/dishes, stir fries, soups and deep fried.

I will greet you at the front door and welcome you into the space with a short introduction. I will briefly share the history of the building before turning our attention to the extraordinary stained-glass windows which are the work of two prominent Canadian artists: Yvonne Williams and Rosemary Kilbourn. After the presentation, there will be sufficient time to explore further – guests may wish to walk freely within the space and take photographs. Alternatively, they may choose to rest in quiet reflection, recording their impressions in a notepad or sketchbook.

We will gather at the end for discussion and sharing over light refreshment. My hope is that you will leave inspired, with a greater awareness of Timmins’ hidden cultural treasures.
