What We’ll Do

Our 2 day group workshop is an inspiring experience. Working hands on with master yurt builder Mattimus you will work with the other participents to construct a complete 14 foot Yurt, you will learn the skills and gain the experience you need to construct your own yurt of any size and style.

Throughout the weekend you will learn traditional and modern styles of yurt construction taking you through 4000 years of yurt history. You do not need any pre-exisiting skills or experience to participate in this wonderful weekend workshop.

Foxfire Heritage Farm is a small farm dedicated dedicated to the preservation of endangered heritage breed animals, traditional skills and lifestyle through sustainable practices. Owner Matt Larivee is a passionate individual focused on bettering the earth around him. In 2021, Matt won the Northern Spark Tourism Award and was a panelist at the 2022 Canador College Sustainability Summit.
