The 101 Experiences team has been carefully curated to include passionate community members with a love of Northern tourism.

Our trainers work closely with hosts to develop, launch, and market their experiences. If you are interested in becoming an experience host, feel free to reach out to the trainer closest to you or to who has an expertise similar to yours.

Meet the Team

Abby Cook

Abby Cook

North Bay, ON
Abby was born and raised in North Bay, Ontario. In 2008, Abby moved to Newfoundland, where she began to realize her passion for travel and tourism. In 2015, Abby moved to Saint John, New Brunswick, where she received a degree from the University of New Brunswick in hospitality and tourism business administration.

In 2018, Abby returned to North Bay, where she co-founded the Beer Baroness Society, and now works with 101 Experiences. Abby is incredibly passionate about developing tourism in North Bay and Northern Ontario, and showing off our hidden gems to the world!

Aga Cabon

Kirkland Lake, ON
Agnieszka (Aga) came to Kirkland Lake 6 years ago. Her involvement with the Kirkland Lake Multicultural Group allowed her to meet newcomers and locals, find connections in this new community, and truly feel at home.

101 Experiences has provided Aga with a wonderful opportunity to meet people with unique passions and talents. For her, it is an honour and great pleasure to assist in turning people’s passions into tourism experiences. Exploring the uniqueness of this region and its people has been a wonderful adventure. And there is still so much to learn and to discover!

Anna McPherson

Kirkland Lake, ON
Anna moved from Queensland, Australia to Kirkland Lake in 2012. When she first arrived, she found it quite lonely, so she really wanted and needed to connect with the local community.

Anna began to meet other newcomers through the KL Multicultural Group. This group provided her with a sense of belonging and support. This is where Anna found her passion, CONNECTING CULTURES. Making newcomers and families feel welcomed and connected to their community. 101 Experiences has been a natural fit for Anna, as her values and goals coincide with those of the the project.

Lexi Wonk

Temiskaming Shores, ON
Lexi grew up in Haileybury, Ontario. When she was 17, she decided to move to Toronto for school.

After completing her bachelor’s degree in chemistry at the University of Toronto, she moved back up North with very little idea of what she wanted to do with her life. As fate would have it, she got involved with the 101 Experiences project and fell in love with community development. Lexi is passionate about promoting tourism in Northern Ontario and helping make our communities more welcoming.

Lexi is in charge of all things administrative at 101 Experiences. Feel free to reach out to her if you have any questions or if you’re interested in getting involved - she will likely answer your email within about 30 seconds!

Lynne Cormier

Lynne Cormier

Temiskaming Shores, ON
Chiwawasumkwe, (Bright Lightning Woman), Lynne, is a band member of Matachewan First Nation. Lynne has a background in social work and a bachelor’s degree in sociology, but her true learning always happens on the Land. She has been relearning Indigenous ways through ceremonies and gatherings since her teens and now sees them as a way of life, as responsibility to practice and to share them whenever she can. Mino Bimaadziwin.

Lynne is a trainer with 101 experiences and is dedicated to helping the project be inclusive and open to history and the original peoples of this land we call Turtle Island. 101 Experiences is an opportunity for all people to be a part of something bigger, and the inclusion of Indigenous people will give everyone a chance to see the richness of Indigenous culture and reduce the stigmas that exist towards us.


Sylvie Lamothe

Timmins, ON
Sylvie was born and raised in Timmins, Ontario. After high school, she uprooted her life to move to Vancouver Island, where she pursued her business degree and started her career. Sylvie's passion for bringing people together and building community led her to a career in event planning and fundraising in the non-profit sector.

After a 15 year jolt, she returned to Timmins, where Sylvie started her new venture, Rebel Soul. Rebel Soul creating unique experiences for the community to try something new, unplug from the day to day and connect with like-minded people. During the summer, you can find Sylvie taking groups out on water for Stand-Up Paddle Board Yoga and Paddle Adventure experiences. Sylvie joined the 101 Experiences team to support the development of experiences in Timmins. She is passionate about supporting others in developing unique experiences of their own.
