What We'll Do

The alpaca walk is all about total relaxation and submersion into nature while walking alpacas through our groomed trails and learning all you ever wanted or needed to know about these beautiful animals. You will arrived at the farm and be introduced to some of our alpacas and a bit of their behaviour. Alpacas are nervous animals, therefore they force their handlers to be calm around them. The more focused you are calming and talking to the alpacas, the more you enjoy your surroundings and forget about the stresses of every day life.

During our walk, we will answer any questions you may have about alpacas. On our return to the barn area, the alpacas back in their pen and everyone is feeling zen,we will gather around and either demonstrate how to do a bit of branch weaving or show you how to make dryer balls and even let you try your hand at spinning alpaca.

During this time, we will serve a bit of seabuckthorn tea or juice. Seabuckthorn is an ancient berry that is different and not well know. We grow it here and are excited about sharing it because it`s a superfood. One of the easiest plants to grown in Northern Ontario is rhubarb. Because of my need to be different, I make rhubarb chutney and pickled rhubarb which you will get to sample also.

What to Bring
You should come prepared for walking in the bush on trails. You will want to bring bug repellent and closed toed shoes or boots depending on the weather. Alpacas will not walk in pouring rain. If we can`t walk the alpacas then we will certainly give you a full tour in the barn and in the weaving studio.
This experience is more of an educational tour but can be suited to children accompanied by adults. It is not very well suited for toddlers as the alpacas tend to be quite nervous around them.
We do have an on farm boutique where you can purchase alpaca products and also our food components so you might want to bring money. We do accept visa, mastercard, debit and cash
